"In the current year, from January 1 till February 11, 2,885 samples have been tested out of which 946 have been found to be positive. The number of deaths because of swine flu and related complications are 42," the bulletin said.
As many as 134 samples were tested yesterday and 39 were found to be positive for the virus.
The number of positive cases reported in the last six days (up to February 11) is showing a decline.
Sufficient stock of medicines and testing kits are available at all teaching hospitals, district hospitals and area hospitals, it said.
Homeopathic doctors have advised that homeopathic medicines can also be taken as a preventive measure, under proper guidance.
Medicines are available free of cost at Government Homoeo Hospital, Ramanthapur in the city and all AYUSH dispensaries.
