4 held in fake OBC certificate racket

Three persons have been arrested, and an advocate has been taken into custody, for allegedly using fake stamps and signatures to fraudulently obtain OBC certificates, police said today.
Rajkumar Sharma, an advocate practising at Karkardooma Court, was detained while his brother Mukesh Kumar, Dharam Pal and Bhopal were arrested based on a tip off from Sharma's shop in Sunder Nagri in the national capital, police said.
"They were found using fake stamps and signatures on the application forms for obtaining OBC certificates on April 22," DCP (northeast) Veenu Bansal said.
Six fake stamps and 15 application forms for obtaining OBC certificates were recovered from their possession.

The fake stamps were of various senior officials like Principal, Government Boys Senior Secondary School, Seemapuri, Oath Commissioner, Notary Public, Executive Magistrate (Tehsildar), Preet Vihar.
"The gang used to offer documents for preparation of various certificates for persons in need and in lieu used to get good money from the applicants," Bansal said.
The role of Rajkumar Sharma is under verification, he said, adding that aspects of the involvement of concerned government offices are also being investigated.
Mukesh used to repair LPG appliances, Bhopal used to work as an agent for preparation of affidavits, while Dharam Pal is a clerk with an advocate at Karkardooma Courts, police said.
