4 of family die as lorry ploughs into hut

A four member family, including a minor girl, were killed on the spot when a container lorry smashed into their roadside hut at Puduchattiram, about 15 km from here early today, police said.
They said the mishap occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle and slammed into the hut where the inmates were sleeping.
The driver fled the spot and a search was on to nab him, police said.
The lorry was proceeding to Chennai from this town.
Those killed included a 50-year-old man, his 18-year-old son, another man aged 25 and a two year-old girl, police said.
