The incident came to light when parents of Yuvraj Singh, resident of Jaitu town here, came to the day care centre to take him home yesterday.
A worker at the centre told them that a man who identified himself as their relative took the boy along with him. He told the workers that the boy's parents could not come as they had to attend a function somewhere, police said.
Police said teams have been dispatched to trace the child.
