The accused have been identified as Syed Salman, Syed Mubashiruddin, Mohd Mushraf and Syed Abdul Raheem Quizar, all between 18-20 years of age, they said.
"Sanjay Junge, a software engineer who was given a lift by the accused in their car, was stabbed to death by them on S D road in Secunderabad on March 3," Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Zone) N Prakash Reddy said.
"A police patrol vehicle had chased the car after the incident. However, the accused managed to escape. Upon verification of the car's registration number with the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), the police zeroed in on the accused," he said.
"Junge and the four accused were strangers, and he had only taken a lift in their car on that day. However, an argument broke out between them. The techie was murdered after a sudden provocation," the DCP said.
