"So far, we have drilled 220 wells of which more than 100 wells are operational. Four rigs were set up and four more rigs are being set up in different parts of the state. A total of eight rigs would be operational in two months," Director of ONGC VP Mahawar said yesterday.
Mahawar said that exploration drive for gas and oil has been expedited in the North-East to attract industries in the region.
The prospect of drilling for Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland is also bright and proper drives for exploration would be given in those states, Mahawar said.
Mahawar said that two gas bearing wells were explored in Khubal areas of North Tripura districts and experiments were on to measure the quantum of gas reserves in those wells.
