42 candidates, including five minors, have been caught for allegedly producing fake documents at an Army recruitment rally in the district headquarters here, police said today.
The candidates were caught with fake documents during the army recruitment rally yesterday, Director of the Kota Army recruitment office Colonel Kamal Uprati told reporters here.
According to Col Uprati, all the accused hail from Agra and Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh.
The fake documents produced by them include marksheets of class 10 and 12, besides domicile and character certificates, he said.
During initial interrogation, the candidates have admitted to have got the documents made through an agent here, Col Uprati added.
Following a complaint by the Army, a case under Section 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will) and other section of IPC has been registered, Kotwali Station House Officer Tarun Kant Somani said.
The five minors would be produced before a juvenile court and the others would be produced before the magistrate, Somani said.
During interrogation, the candidates have admitted to have obtained the documents for Rs 2,000 to 2,500 from Kota, said ASP Rajan Dushyant.
The certificates will be verified tomorrow and if they are found to have be issued from local offices, the issuing authorities would also be interrogated, he added.
