46 kgs poppy seized from truck in Jammu, driver arrested

Around 46 kg of poppy was today seized from a load carrier during a search operation here following which its driver was arrested, police said.
Police intercepted the vehicle after setting up a check-point at Bye-pass (Bagh-i-Bahu area) in Jammu city and 46 Kg poppy was recovered from it during the search, they said.
The truck driver, identified as Nek Ram, was arrested for smuggling the poppy, police said.
A case was registered against the driver and further probe into the matter has been initiated, they said.
