47 gram heroin seized, 2 held
officials have seized 47 grams of heroin in two different places in Aizawl.
Two persons were arrested in this connection yesterday and booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act, 1985.
Department officials said that trafficking of drugs, especially from Myanmar with which Mizoram shares a 404-long-km porous international border, shot up during the past six months.
Smuggling of 'Methamphetamine' from that country further worried the officials as the contraband, manufactured from pseudo-ephedrine substances, was highly addictive and dangerous.
