Five policemen including an inspector were injured today when some persons attacked them when they intervened in a land dispute case, officials said.
The incident took place when a team of policemen reached Harkateta village in Jalalabad area, where two factions were locked in a land dispute, ASP Subhash Chandra Shakya said.
When the policemen reached there, some women started hurled bricks and men attacked them with sticks, he said.
Inspector Indrapal, Sub Inspector Nepal Singh and three constables were injured in the attack, the ASP said.
An FIR has been registered in this connection against 17 persons, Shakya said adding no arrests had been made so far.
