45-year old Sekar, his son and two others, all teenaged, were caught in the slush in a pond when they entered it to take bath in a temple pond in Aragalure, police said.
The victims were part of a group from Coimbatore who had come to the temple to offer worship, they added.
In another incident in nearby Yercaud, a 19-year old engineering student, who was on a picnic to the hill town with his friends, drowned in a pond while taking bath, police said.
