5 killed, 2 hurt in road accident

Five persons, including three of a family, were killed and two others seriously injured today when a truck hit their vehicle at village Nevada under Leharpur police station area.
Seven persons, including the driver, were travelling in the vehicle, the police said.
All of them were residents of the Bisva locality here and were going to participate in a function when the accident took place.
The deceased were identified as Israt Ali (65), his wife Wasim Fatima (60), their daughter Maseera (26), Babu Khan (55) and Neesar Khan, whose age was not immediately known.
Ali's another daughter Soni and the driver sustained serious injuries, the police said, adding that they were admitted to a district hospital.

The bodies were sent for postmortem.
The truck driver fled after the accident and efforts were on to nab him, the police added.
