5 Maha irrigation engineers killed in wall collapse

Five Maharashtra Irrigation department engineers were today killed when a portion of the wall at a barrage caved in near the district's Chinchve area, about 110km from here.
The mishap took place at about 1.30 P.M. While work was on to plug some leaks at the barrage, Nashik police said.
The victims, identified as Hiralal Patil, HV Aher, AG Sonawane, Pradeep Suryavanshi and AK Aher, were standing in a pit at the time.
The bodies have been pulled out of the debris and sent to a government hospital in Chandwad for post-mortem, police added.
