50 cases of Official Secrets Act violation in 3 years: Govt

As many as 50 cases of violation of the Official Secrets Act were registered in the country in the last three calendar years, the Lok Sabha was informed today.
Of these 50 cases, 30 were registered in 2016, nine in 2015 and 11 in 2014, Union Minister of state for Home Hansraj Ahir said in a written reply.
Of the 30 cases registered last year, the maximum of eight were lodged in Tamil Nadu, followed by five each in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, he added.
