The incident came to light this morning when family members of Omvati Chaudhary (55) found her body lying in a pool of blood in her room, police said.
"The accused, Sandeep Kadwasara, murdered his mother last night by slitting her throat. He was present in the house when other family members found his mother dead," police said.
Initially, the accused tried to mislead the family members and police, but later, confessed to have committed the crime, they said.
The accused has been arrested.
