Fifty-six grams of heroin, worth
Rs 2.4 lakh in market, was recovered from a vehicle in Champhai district at a spot near Mizoram-Myanmar border.
The contraband was spotted by members of Supply Reduction Service (SRS), an anti drug squad formed by the central committee of the Young Mizo Association (YMA) as they intercepted a passing vehicle.
While the driver of the vehicle escaped, the drug was handed over to the government officials and valued as Rs 2.4 lakh in global market.
