Superintendent of Police Omprakash said a dispute arose between the two communities over bursting of crackers by children last night. They matter was sorted out then.
However, the two groups entered into scuffle again this morning over the issue and started pelting stones at each other, he said.
Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, the SP said.
Senior Superintendent of Police Dinesh Chandra Dubey said half a dozen people have been arrested in this connection.
