6 die of encephalitis in UP

Encephalitis claimed six lives in different districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh since yesterday while 43 new cases have been reported during this period.
At present, 233 patients of encephalitis are undergoing treatment at the BRD medical college Gorakhpur, six in district hospital, Gorakhpur, ten in Deoria, four in Kushinagar and eight in Maharajganj district hospital, according to a data available with the office of Additional Director of Health Department.
Since January this year, a total of 2,863 patients have been admitted to hospitals for treatment out of which 578 patients have died, it said.
