The victims, mostly tribals, were travelling in a tractor-trolley which was hit by a speeding truck near Nawli village, about 55 km from the district headquarters here.
They were on their way to a temple from Raja Mahadev village when the truck crashed in the tractor from behind, police said.
Five persons died on the spot while another succumbed to injuries in hospital, they said, adding the injured were admitted in the district hospital.
