"Six stone pelters evading arrests have surrendered at police station Hajin. They are involved in recent cases of violence and stone pelting," police said.
They said the surrender followed a large scale manhunt for the stone pelters and other perpetrators of violence in Hajin and adjoining areas in Bandipora district.
Meanwhile, the police said they would provide counseling and de-addiction support to a teenaged who was arrested in connection with stone pelting incidents in Shopian district.
"Police will provide counseling and de-addiction support to the stone pelter and drug addict Faisal Ahmed Mir alias Chotta Geelani," a police spokesman said.
"The boy is involved in a number of cases of stone pelting in Shopian and various other violent activities. He is reported to have developed habit of taking drugs," the spokesman said.
He said police would provide counseling and de-addiction support to him free of cost.
