The accused, led by Ramchandara Velhe (60), attacked the duo who had come to Sarangpur village with swords, sickle and iron rods on the night of October 14, as they suspected that the two had come to disrupt the electioneering process, Khinavali police station sub-inspector Nandkumar Bhoir said.
The accused were later arrested and booked under section 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC and relevant sections of Bombay Police Act, he said.
The two seriously injured persons were admitted to a local hospital, he added.
