7 JCILPS members discharged from jail

All the seven persons, who were lodged in Manipur Central jail in connection with the on going agitation by the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS), were today discharged from the jail, a senior police officer said.
The officer told PTI the released agitators were - Ningthoujam Robindro Singh from Bishnupur, Khangembam Saining of Bishnupur, Thiyam Kabichandra of Khoijuman Mamang Leikai, Kongjengbam Premkanta of district hospital canteen, Bishnupur district, Khangembam Dhanajit Singh of Keisampat Thiyam Leikai, Imphal West district, Soram Somokanta of Sawombung Thongkhong and Thokchom Suresh of Khurai Kongpal Sajor Leikai in Manipur's Imphal East district.
They were all released unconditionally.
The seven, earlier lodged in Manipur Central jail, Sajiwa, were discharged on the eve of resumption of talks between the state government and representatives of JCILPS which was scheduled to start from 3 PM today.
The JCILPS had attached a condition to release the apprhended activists before any remption of talks, said a Home Department official.
Meanwhile, JCILPS welcomed the step and its Convenor Kh Ratan said since the state government showed the proper gesture they would reciprocate by coming to the talks table.
JCILPS had been spearheading the movement for implementation of the Inner Line Permit system and action against police personnel whose alleged firing killed student agitator Sapam Robinhood on July 8 last.
