7 killed, 11 others as earth caves in
Superintendent of Police Suresh Kumar Chaudhary said the mishap took place when they were digging earth. 18 persons, mostly children, were trapped under it.
While seven persons, including five minors aged between five and 16 years died on the spot, 11 others were injured, he said.
The wounded were admitted to hospital where doctors referred six seriously hurt to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH).
The victims hailed from Hela Bazar locality, the SP said, adding the district administration has announced Rs 1.5 lakh compensation to the kin of those who died.
