700 cartons of illegal liquor seized on UP-Hry border

Police have seized 700 cartons of illegal liquor, which were being smuggled from Punjab to Arunachal Pradesh, in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district, an official said.

The seizure was made in an area under the Jhinjhana police station on the Uttar Pradesh-Haryana border Thursday night, Circle Officer Rajesh Kumar Tiwari said.

Two people were also arrested by the police team that made the seizure. It was being led by Station House Officer O P Choudhry, he said.

The cartons were being taken in a truck.
