75-year old farmer dies

A 75-year old coconut grower died of heart attack in nearby Tirupur District with his family members claiming that he had been upset for last few months about the plight of the withering trees in his farm due to non-availability of water.
Chinnappan was found in a depressed state without speaking to any one in the past few days and died of massive heart attack last night, police said quoting family members.
The farmer was upset for the last few months since there was no water in seven bore wells he had dug to save his trees.
Family members and farmers in the area attributed the death of Chinnappan to the failure of monsoon and also loss of coconut trees, police said.
