8 killed in separate mishaps in HP

Eight persons were killed and a dozen others injured in three separate road mishaps in Shimla and Solan districts of Himachal Pradesh, police said today.
In Shimla district's Kotkhai area, three persons, including two women, were killed and two others injured when the car they were travelling in rolled into deep gorge at Hulli this evening, they said.
On receiving information, police reached the spot and retrieved the bodies while the injured were rushed to IGMC hospital here, they said.
In a separate incident, three persons were killed and nine others injured when a vehicle carrying a marriage party fell into a 150-foot deep gorge near Choka Nallah in Rampur area of Shimla district, about 155 km from here, late last night, police said.

The vehicle carrying twelve members of a marriage party was returning to Rohroo, they said.
The accident occurred as the driver lost control over the vehicle and it fell into the gorge, police said.

The condition of two injured is stated to be serious, they said.
Sunil Kumar (29), Chander Mohan (34) and Bhushan Chauhan (34) were killed in the mishap.
In the third incident, Drug Inspector Suresh Nike and his driver were killed when a bus hit the SUV they were travelling in near Madawala in Solan district on Baddi-Kalka road.
Both the occupants of the SUV died on the spot following the mishap while a motorcyclist was injured in the incident.

The two were returning after attending a marriage at Rohroo in Shimla district.
Police have registered a case and investigations are in progress.
