Police said the fire broke out near the fabrication yard and the flame spread rapidly when the labourers were about to start work for the day.
The injured labourers, mostly hailing from outside Odisha, were immediately admitted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital here, they said, adding four of them were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack.
Fire tenders immediately rushed to the spot and doused the flame with the help of police and there was no major damage at the site, said inspector-in-charge of Chamakhandi police station, A K Parida.
