"82 sugar mills have started cane crushing this season. There are 119 sugar mills, which included 23 of cooperatives and one of state sugar corporation besides others that have to do crushing this season. Directives have been issued to mills, which have not started crushing to initiate the process for the same," Principal Secretary, Cane and sugar industries, Rahul Bhatnagar told reporters here.
So far, 16.91 lakh quintal sugar has been produced, he said.
