A statement from state police headquarters said today that a team of STF and DRI intercepted a truck coming from Andhra Pradesh in Bhakhtiyarpur in rural Patna district late last night and seized 850 kg of ganja.
A ganja smuggler Sukhdeo Ram was arrested with the smuggled contraband, it said.
The truck was on way to Vaishali district from a destination in Andhra Pradesh, it added.
DRI Patna unit has registered a case in this regard.
After total prohibition in Bihar since April last year, illegal trade in dry intoxicants like ganja, smack, etc have increased as revealed by huge seizure from different parts of the state.
