89 pc students pass SSC exam in Nashik division

Over 89 per cent students passed the secondary school certificate (SSC) exam in Nashik division of the Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, officials said today.
"89.15 per cent students, who appeared for the class X exam held in March 2014 under the Nashik division of the Maharashtra board, have passed," R R Marwadi, divisional secretary told reporters.
Total number of 1,86,510 students had appeared for the examiation, of them 1,66,269 passed, he said.
The Nashik division comprises four districts: Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon and Nandurbar.
The district-wise results are: Nashik 90.61 per cent, Dhule 88.22 per cent, Jalgaon 87.44 per cent and Nandurbar 89.10 per cent.
According to Marwadi, girls outperformed boys, as out of the 81,850 girls, 74,958 (91.58 per cent) passed the exam, while out of the 1,04,660 boys 91,311 (87.25 per cent) passed.
