"Based on a tip-off, excise officials apprehended the truck carrying the consignment in around 800 boxes," Assistant Commissioner of Excise DN Singh said.
Although officials managed to arrest the driver of the truck, his two accomplices managed to flee.
A case under the Excise Act has been registered against the driver and the vehicle has been impounded.
