The 90-year-old theatre personality is the latest addition and is playing the grandfather on the Star Plus' show, which stars Monica Sehgal and Kashmira Irani in the lead roles.
"Is there anything better to do? I would prefer to be onscreen than sit at home and watch people be onscreen. Also my role is not a typical, dependent, depressed old grandfather. I am a dreamer who likes to dream and support others to pursue their dreams so it's a fun role," Karmarkar said in a statement.
