900 kg ration rice seized from train

About 900 kg of rice, meant for Public Distribution and being smuggled to Kerala, was today seized from the Coimbatore-Thrissur passenger train, railway officials said.
The rice was concealed in 25 gunny bags, they said. It was seized during a routine coach checking at platform number five.
However, there were no claimants for the rice, they said, adding, it was later handed over to Food Cell-CID, they said.
