A S Pillai's book on BrahMos to be brought out in Russian

A book on BrahMos cruise missile in English written by Apathukatha Sivathanu Pillai, is all set to be translated in Russian language for which the work has already begun.
Pillai, hailed as the father of BrahMos cruise missile, an Indo-Russian joint venture authored "The path unexplored, success mantra of BrahMos," which was released last year.
The 205-page book with a foreword by former President A P J Abdul Kalam, will now be translated in Russian language.
It is tentatively scheduled for release in Moscow University in December this year.
"We have just begun the work for getting it translated into Russian. We have formed a six member committee comprising eminent scholars to execute the translation work," Secretary General, Indo-Russian Cultural and Friendship Society, P Thangappan told PTI.
"Our counterparts in Russia are associating with us in this endeavour and we have plans to get it released in December in Moscow University," he added.
The translation team consists of four Russian and two Indian scholars, he said.
"They are eminent scholars in both Russian and English languages and well-versed in rocket sciences," Thangappan said.
With regard to the book's translation into Tamil, the top Indo-Russian body official said half of the work has been completed, adding, they are hopeful of releasing it by October here.
Pillai was the founder CEO and MD of BrahMos Aerospace and also a former Chief Controller, Research and Development, DRDO.
Pillai, a native of Nagercoil in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, is a recipient of several top honours including Padma Shri (2002), Padma Bhushan (2013), Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award (2014), Order of Friendship Award from the President of Russia (2014).
