Aamir attends health programme in Nepal, visits Lumbini

Bollywood actor and UNICEF goodwill ambassador Aamir Khan today attended a nutrition programme here organised by a Nepalese women's group at the initiative of the global body.
On a three-day visit to Nepal, Aamir arrived in western Nepal's Kapilvastu this morning and reached Pakadi Health Post in the area.
The actor arrived at the heath post to observe the status of nutrition and spent about an hour. He also made a presentation to local people on nutrition.
People in large numbers from adjoining districts as also from India gathered at the health post to take a glimpse of the noted Bollywood actor. Aamir greeted the crowd by waving his hands.

He also paid a visit to Maya Devi Temple at Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha, situated near Kapilvastu after attending the UNICEF programme.
Through his TV talk show "Satyamev Jayate", Aamir has been championing for a wide range of social issues including female foeticide, child sexual abuse, honour killings, insensitivity towards the physically disabled, alcoholism, and problems faced by senior citizens.

On Monday, he landed in Kathmandu with his personal security personnel. Nepal government has also provided around 12 security personnel for his safety.
He is scheduled to address a press meet before returning back home tomorrow wrapping up his visit.

Aamir was made United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund Goodwill Ambassador in November 2011.
