The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has "legitimate" proof against the former Punjab cabinet minister Bikram Majithia for allegedly giving "shelter to drug traders", senior party leader Sanjay Singh claimed today.
He appeared in a local court in connection with a defamation case filed against him by Majithia.
Later talking to media persons, Singh demanded thorough probe against Majithia by the CBI and said the AAP has got "proof" against Majithia for allegedly giving shelter to drug traders.
However, Majithia said, "Singh should have said inside the court whatever allegations he made against him outside the court."
He said by giving statements outside the court, Sanjay Singh was "befooling" people.
Majithia said truth will prevail in the defamation case filed by him against AAP Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and two other AAP leaders.
In a statement here, Majithia said Kejriwal was already reneging from his utterances like he had done in other defamation cases filed against him by BJP leaders in Delhi.
"Now the Delhi CM has taken a stand in court that he never held nukkad meetings in Amritsar and never made any defamatory remarks against me.
"He is taking this stand because he understands the noose is tightening around his neck and he will be taken to task for the malicious slander spread by him," Majithia said.
