Aaradhya's educational initiation on Basant Panchmi

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan's granddaughter Aaradhya got her first slate on the occasion of Saraswati Pooja, which marked her education initiation.
The 71-year-old actor said apart from worshipping the goddess of learning on Basant Panchami yesterday, Aaradhya, 2, who is the daughter of Abhishek and Aishwarya also had her educational initiation on the sacred day.
"This morning early on the 4th was an auspicious day - Saraswati Pooja - a day of learning and education and a prayer to Saraswati the Goddess of learning... A small prayer with the staff and then the most important ritual... The moment of giving Aaradhya a writing utensil and leave it to her to scribble," Bachchan posted on his blog.

"It's a moment of initiation, of the child towards education and learning, after completing 2 years of age! It's tradition, it is culture, it is cute...Aaradhya picked up a piece of chalk and scribbled on a slate. The initiation was complete," he further added.
