The National Conference leader was referring to surfacing of two variants of 500 rupee notes, which the Reserve Bank of India put down to printing defect due to rush.
"Don't we have a Governor of the RBI? Has anyone seen him in the last few weeks? Does anyone know what he plans to do about this mess?" Omar asked.
In another tweet in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement, Omar said the problems of opposition were that the government did not prepare at all for the demonetisation process.
"Sir our problem isn't with whether others prepared or not it's with the fact that YOUR government didn't prepare at all and is now scrambling," he said.
The Prime Minister on his personal twitter handle had said: "Some people have a problem (with demonetization) that the Government did not give them time to prepare.
