A senior ABVP leader Tuesday said the student organisation support changes in university curriculum at regular intervals with focus on practical education.
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad is the student wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
"There should be changes in university curriculum at regular intervals and part of the curriculum should be framed in such a way that it should have acceptability," All India University In-charge of ABVP, Shreehari Barikar said.
Addressing a press conference here, Barikar said the curriculum should also be based on the natural resources, local population and their culture to make the students feel that the university belonged to them.
University authorities should also explore possibilities to impart professional education in local languages, introduce annual examination instead of semester pattern, he said.
Barikar said Jharkhand has abundance of resources and tribal populated. Hence, the curriculum of the universities of the state should also be based on these resources, their culture, customs and history.
