The chief minister was presiding over a meeting to review the functioning of various state academies here, an official release said.
The academies are Haryana Sahitya Academy, Haryana Granth Academy, Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Academy, Haryana Sanskrit Academy and Haryana Urdu Academy.
He exhorted the functionaries of the academies to make efforts to promote literature and facilitate the litterateurs.
He said the state government was committed to promote literature, language and other literary activities.
Khattar asked them to work for preparation and compilation of good literature.
Deputy chairmen and directors of the academies showed a brief presentation of the new initiatives to be taken by them to preserve the state's heritage and promote and preserve literature and languages.
