A technical assistant of Jhunjhunu Power Corporation was arrested today by anti- corruption bureau (ACB) sleuths for accepting bribe of Rs 14,000.
The accused Mukesh Kumar Meghwal had demanded the bribe from Mohammad Yameen in lieu of facilitating domestic power connection.
The accused had demanded Rs 21,000 following which the victim lodged a complaint with ACB, additional SP Prithviraj Meena said.
He said that following negotiation the deal settled at Rs 19,000 and the accused had taken Rs 5,000 earlier.
"Today, we laid a trap when Meghwal had gone to Yameen's residence to collect the remaining Rs 14,000 of the deal," Meena said.
The accused was arrested and will be produced before the court tomorrow, he added.
