Opposition leader in the Kerala assembly V S Achuthanandan today blamed the UDF government for the death of infants due to malnutrition in the tribal hamlets of Attapadi in the district.
Speaking to reporters after visiting the hamlets, Achuthanandan wanted the government to extend free ration and food articles to the tribal people for the next six months.
He said government should fix the responsibility for the death of infants in the area.
As per official record 22 children had died due to malnutrition, anaemic and under weight in the tribal hamlets in the past five months.
