The Arunachal Chapter of RTI India (ACRI) has urged the chief secretary to make it mandatory for public servants, whose kith and kin are contesting the forthcoming elections to declare their assets, properties, insurances, bonds, security deposits and cash in hand, including their bank account details, in order to avoid conflict of interests.
In a representation to the chief secretary today, the ACRI said such government servants should not be granted leave, even on medical grounds, and directed not to visit their hometowns during the election period.
"Such public servants should further be directed not to indulge in election campaign, and their services should be terminated if any complaint is lodged against them in this regard," it said.
