Bollywood action director Tinu Verma, who was arrested for allegedly assaulting his half brother Manohar with a sword, has withdrawn his bail petition after the Bombay High Court expressed its inclination to reject it.
Justice U V Bhakre said yesterday that his court would not entertain the bail plea and asked Verma to approach the trial court for relief once the chargesheet is filed.
Action choreographer Tinu Verma allegedly attacked his step brother Manohar Verma in a family feud on August 23. Soon thereafter, he allegedly went absconding but was arrested a week later by the police.
According to police, Tinu and Manohar had a fight when the action director tried to use the latter's home at the Film City here to dump some equipment. In a fit of anger, Tinu allegedly attacked Manohar with a sword and the latter was rushed to a hospital with multiple fractures.
Tinu's lawyer argued that Monohar was not seriously injured. This was evident because soon after the fight he had given a statement to police about injuries caused to him.
