Adani Power's Tiroda plant resumes normal operations

Adani Power today said five units of 660 mw capacity each at the Tiroda plant in Maharashtra have resumed normal operations with availability of water on July 1.
In May, the company had to shut down four units out of the total 5 units of 660 MW each (of the company's wholly owned subsidiary, Adani Power Maharashtra Ltd) situated at Tiroda plant in Maharashtra due to acute water shortage.
"With the availability of water, all the units at Tiroda Power Plant have resumed normal operations with effect from July 1, 2016," Adani Power Ltd said in a BSE filing.
Tiroda Power Plant gets water under a long-term arrangement from Dhapewada Project of Vidarbha Irrigation Development Corporation.

"Due to drought condition in Maharashtra the water dam has dried up and is unable to supply water to Tiroda Power Plant. The production from these four units will resume once the water is available," the company had earlier said in May.
