Philippines-based Asian Development Bank (ADB) has appointed Diwakar Gupta and Bambang Susantono as vice-president in two different roles.
"ADB has appointed Diwakar Gupta as vice-president for Private Sector and Co-financing operations, and Bambang Susantono as vice-president for Knowledge Management and Sustainable Development," the multi-lateral lender said in a release.
Gupta, a former Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of State Bank of India (SBI), succeeds Lakshmi Venkatachalam, who has just quit ADB, it added.
Susantono, who will be responsible for overall management of operations of ADB's Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department, succeeds Bindu Lohani, who is retiring from ADB.
Susantono was previously the vice-minister of Indonesia's Ministry of Transportation, and has had a long experience in academics as well as providing policy advice to the government and private sector organisations and international institutions.
Headquartered in Manila, ADB is dedicated to reducing poverty in Asia and the Pacific through inclusive economic growth, environmentally sustainable growth, and regional integration.
It has 67 members, of which 48 are from the region.
In 2014, its assistance totalled USD 22.9 billion, including co-financing of USD 9.2 billion.
