Presiding over a review meeting on availability of foodgrains under Public Distribution System in Kinnaur district, the Minister said essential commodities like levy sugar, subsidized pulses, salt, mustard oil, flour and rice had been made available through 56 fair price shops.
He said surplus supply was being sent to different parts of the district so that people do not face any shortage of foodgrains.
He said adequate supply of foodgrains was available for the consumers in Reckong Peo, Tapri and Bhawanagar godowns and LPG re-fills would soon be supplied to Tapri and later to Reckong Peo through transshipment.
Bali said 9,000 litres of kerosene oil, 30 quintals of rice under BPL quota, 10 quintals of rice under Antodaya Ann Yojna, 100 quintals of flour, 1000 litres of kerosene oil, 10 quintals of salt and 20 quintals of levy sugar had been provided by the department to the district.
