A court today admitted the bail petition of Union Minister of State for Railways Adhir Chowdhury in a murder case lodged against him by the ruling Trinamool Congress.
District Judge Prasenjit Biswas said the bail plea of Chowdhury, who is the state Congress chief, would be heard on April 16.
The Trinamool Congress yesterday lodged an FIR against Chowdhury and 27 others for the murder of Badal Sheikh at Char Paraspur village under Jalangi police station on April 9.
Police sources had said the killing occurred over a dispute on control of lease of a ferry ghat.
