A local court today reserved its order on an application by an AAP worker seeking issuance of notice to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allegedly filing defective affidavit during the 2012 Gujarat Assembly polls.
Additional Sessions Judge G N Rana said that he will pronounce the order on October 7 with regard to the AAP member's plea, which sought the issuance of notice to Modi and returning officer of Maninagar Assembly seat in 2012 P K Jadeja, under CrPC section 401(2) which seeks to provide an opportunity of hearing to the other party.
The application was filed by AAP worker Nishant Verma, who had earlier filed his main plea which sought registration of an FIR against Modi for allegedly hiding his marital status in his affidavit filed before returning officer during the 2012 Assembly elections.
Verma has in his plea before the sessions court sought quashing of the order of the magisterial court which had dismissed his application on the grounds of the delay of one year.
In the application, he has said Modi had disclosed his marital status and the name of his wife as Jashodaben for the first time in his affidavit accompanying the nomination for Vadodara Lok Sabha seat election this year.
However, when he had contested Gujarat Assembly polls in 2012, he had left the column on information about the spouse blank, he has said.
