Affidavit filed before tribunal

An Hindu Munnani activist today filed a petion before The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Tribunal, which held a two-day sitting at nearby Coonoor, for adjudicating the declaration of SIMI as unlawful association.
According to police, M Karthi, the Munnani's town secretary filed a petition through an advocate,L Chandrasekhar and deposed before Justice Suresh Kait, that SIMI will be dangerous for the sovereignity and unity of the country.
Karthi was cross-examined by a lawyer, Agarwal, who representing two SIMI members, Umar Siddique and Pal Ismail, argued that false cases were foisted against them, police said.
